Doug Visits H2O2 Hair Studio

I woke up and looked in the mirror this morning and realized I couldn’t keep getting my picture taken with my hair looking like this.

I headed to my friends’ Meagan and Jason Haney’s hair studio, H2O2, to get a new style – and appreciate their art! The couple opened the company in 2014, intending to create a comfortable styling experience for women and men.

Creating a Creative Name
When founding their hair studio, the Haneys were considering calling the salon Peroxide, but thought it sounded too much like the name of a dance club! They decided on H2O2, the chemical make-up of peroxide, because Jason and Meagan are two Haneys (“H’s”) and their two dogs are Ogre and Ozma (“O’s)!

Opening the salon also gave Jason and Meagan a place to hang their art collection. Jason’s first degree is in art, and his vast collection has found a home in the hair studio. Many of the works have upcycled and customized frames from a local framer, Vaughn Bocchino. A lot of the furniture is also refurbished antiques from Meagan’s father.

Meagan and Jason, and the two other stylists, Amanda Massey and Ashley Smith, offer full service hair cut and color, as well as formal hair styles for events (like Homecoming, Christmas parties and more!), and blowout treatments, a luxury rejuvenating hair experience.
